Throwback Thursday: New York State of Mind

It seems like on Thursday’s we reminisce on some of our favorite memories. So today, I’m going back to 2008 on my day trip to New York City with my good friend Krysta and her Dad. Now I had been to NYC a couple of times before but I was either too young to really get it or it was for a specific focus; and that focus was not the City.

I would say that this trip was the first time that I actually learned about the city and felt like an adult, a little sense of independence and a little taste of the big world.

I also found my love for black and white photos here.

What did we do? We took an in-depth tour of the city and learned about how it works, what the different burrows are and what they symbolize. Our guide was a native new yorker with a very thick new york accent. It felt like we were immersed in the city and it was just telling us how it worked and what it history was; totally great.

Now when I say in-depth, I meant it. I really felt like I learned SO MUCH. From Ferry Rides, to Rockefeller Plaza, to Central Park, to China Town, to Tribeca, to the Upper East Side, I felt like I went every where there but left with a taste of wanting more! I mean, the Big Apple literally has EVERYTHING.

We got some really good deals in China Town and ate some pretty good food! My favorite part though was hanging out with my friend Krysta. We’ve been friends for years now and even though we don’t see each other very often, it’s times like this that I reflect upon and remember how much fun we’ve had! Life makes you change, you don’t see everyone all the time, but when you do, it’s epic.

Take a look at some of the photos and think of the hot temps in the city during the summer because it’s freezing here and we’re all over it šŸ™‚

Have a good Thursday šŸ™‚
