Clean “Baked” Apples

While on this cleanse my favorite sweets are a no-go. No cakes, cookies or ice cream. It’s only 10 days and I can do it.

I found a recipe on Pinterest that I have modified to my liking. This fixes my craving for apple pie; microwave baked apples. This is also SUPER quick to make!

Here’s what you’ll need for 1 serving:

1 Apple

1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon

1/4 tsp of pure vanilla extract

2 Sprays of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil

1 tbsp of water

First, core your apple. I have an apple corer that requires a heavy push-down and your apple is fully cored.

Next dice your apple into little cubes (at this point you can also remove the skins from the apple if you want. I left them on for this batch.)

Place your apples in a microwave safe bowl, add the vanilla, cinnamon, water and coconut oil, stir with a spoon.

Place the bowl in the microwave covered with a paper towel. You’ll want the power towel to fully cover the apples and be tucked underneath the bowl to create a “seal.” Microwave your apples for 4-5 minutes.

After microwaving, let it SIT for several minutes. The bowl will be hot.

Pull it out of the microwave and check to see if your apples are tender. If not, microwave for another minute until tender.

Plate your apples and voila! Clean and delicious dessert!
